This study attempted to identify factors associated with women¡¯s compliance to breast self-examination in Korea. Independent variables of major interest under the study were based on the health belief model.
The sample for the study was selected by a purposive sampling method to consist of 200 women in year of 2000. About 54% of the respondents reported to have an experience of breast self-examination. Multiple regression analyses identified factors associated with compliance to breast self-examination. They were those without a regular job, those with concerns for health and perceived benefits. Some policy implications were discussed.
